Now, it's time to test whether the SVN server is working properly?

To test the server, open a browser and enter the URL of the repository you have gotten at the time of the creation of the repository. If you didn't note the URL, open the VisualSVN Server Manager and click on the repository. You will find the URL on top of the window opened after clicking the repository.

Now you will get the following error. This error is being shown on the Firefox web browser. If you are using other web browsers, you will also get a similar type o error, but the browser window may be different.

The error will be shown only once for a browser on a system.

Here, you have to click on Advanced. Then you have to click on Add Exception. Here, a new window will be opened as shown below.

Now click on Get Certificate.

The current window will disappear and a new window will be opened asking for the user name and password of the subversion user that you have created previously.

Provide the credential of a subversion user. You will get the following screen.

Click the repository link shown on the browser window, and you will get the following window, where branch, trunk, and tags will be shown.

Till now, we have not added anything to the trunk, hence if you click on the trunk you will get a blank screen. Now we have tested that the server is ready to use.

As the SVN server is ready to use. Read the next tutorial SVN Client Setup on Windows.

Happy Exploring!
